Great strides have been made in minimally invasive colorectal surgery in recent decades with resulting significant improvement in patients’ outcomes. However, minimally invasive pelvic colorectal surgery remains difficult, and complications may result in worse outcomes for all patients, but especially once undergoing IPAA surgery.
