The use of biologics in Ulcerative Colitis has been hailed as one of the biggest advancements in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease in recent decades. Although holding great promise, its widespread use showed only a slight decrease in subsequent need for surgery. With the ever-increasing use of biologics, their use before surgery and the need for adjustment remains a topic of everyday discussion between surgery and gastroenterology. In this episode Drs.
